ASQ Canada offers "Innovations in Quality" Seminar
Milwaukee, Wis., March 11, 2008 — The ASQ Toronto Section is holding its annual spring seminar, “Innovations in Quality” on March 18, 2008, in Toronto, Ontario. The seminar will consist of 90-minute workshops which will include exercises on the hot topics of quality management. The workshops include:
- Business Continuity – Diana Pryde of BSI – This session will look at BS 25999, the new standard for Business Continuity Management (BCM), and will introduce a management systems approach for understanding, developing and implementing business continuity within an organization.
- Innovation Generation – Peter Merrill of Quest – An explanation of the innovation process and a demonstration to show that “collective” knowledge is vital. Behaviors that need developing for an innovative culture are explained.
- Changes to ISO 9001:2009 – David Zimmerman of CSA – This session includes information on the upcoming amendment to ISO 9001 and a discussion of the process regarding changes to ISO 9001. Learn how this new version of ISO 9001 will affect your current quality program.
- Emotional Intelligence and Six Sigma – Andrew Milivojevich of The Knowledge Management Group – This session illustrates how emotional intelligence and the discipline of Six Sigma can be integrated into an effective process to improve leadership and human performance in the workplace at all levels of the organization.
- Integrated Management Systems – Trevor Smith of Quality Integration Solutions – This session will review updates in international standards and trends in integrated use for strategic and operational processes, standards and current trends in their integrated use for strategic and operational processes for organizations.
- Customer Satisfaction Measurement – Lally Marwah of SSHA – This presentation introduces a new guideline for monitoring and measuring customer satisfaction, ISO/TS1004. It describes the process and methods for understanding the customer’s perception of the organization and its products, and how such information may be used to take steps to increase customer satisfaction.
