ASQ Expands Global Presence With Six Sigma Training in Malaysia

Genaxis Signing Agreement Ceremony Set for Mid-March

Milwaukee, Wis., March 5, 2008 — The American Society for Quality (ASQ) has announced that it is partnering with Malaysian company, Genaxis, to provide Six Sigma training in Malaysia. A signing ceremony will take place March 17, 2008, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

“Bringing quality training to Malaysia is carrying on our vision to make quality a global priority,” said Paul Borawski, executive director and chief strategic officer of ASQ. “The circle of quality is not bound by geography, and the Genaxis partnership will allow ASQ to disseminate its body of knowledge to a broad range of corporations and work force in Malaysia. Our hope is to advance Malaysia’s quality of goods and services as part of our effort toward a worldwide environment of quality.”

Laurel Nelson-Rowe, ASQ managing director, will be present to sign the agreement on behalf of ASQ. The agreement will give Genaxis a license to market and deliver ASQ Six Sigma Executive, Champion, Black Belt and Green Belt trainings to organizations throughout Malaysia. Also attending the ceremony will be the U.S. Ambassador to Malaysia, James Keith and Malaysian Minister of Entrepreneur and Co-operative Development, Y.B. Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, who will officiate the event. Y.B. Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin has voiced the need to encourage Malaysian organizations to use quality practices to improve the economy.

This will be the first time ASQ Six Sigma training will be available in Malaysia. The training will be available to companies in all industries. Adapting and applying Six Sigma methodologies can lead to dramatically improved business performance and bottom-line profitability. Six Sigma is not only designed for manufacturing enterprises. Financial institutions, healthcare organizations and service providers are also reaping the benefits of Six Sigma deployment.
