In addition to the educational aspects, the Toronto Section will celebrate a longtime commitment to quality. “We salute the Toronto Section as they commemorate 60 successful years of working together to make workplace quality a global priority and organizational imperative,” said Paul Borawski, ASQ executive director, and chief strategic officer.

Loyal Members
Dedicated, quality-focused individuals make up ASQ Canada’s Toronto Section. Ben Lloyd was one of the founding members. In 60 years he has seen much change. “Statistical quality control was very much systems-oriented in those days,” Lloyd said. Lloyd’s career started at Canadian Industries Ltd., and continued in management consulting for Price Waterhouse. “What has interested me most was the challenge of getting people to accept quality control as their obligation,” Lloyd said.

Lloyd, and 55-year member George Bornet, will be recognized by ASQ President Ron Atkinson at the forum. "With thousands of members throughout ASQ Canada, our business professionals take the work of quality seriously,” said Brenda Fisk, ASQ Canada’s Regional Director.

ASQ is the world’s leading authority on quality. ASQ members are hard at work in more than 100 countries, advancing learning, quality improvement, and knowledge exchange to improve business results, and to create better workplaces and communities. ASQ Canada is a community of more than 6,000 individuals and nine corporate members in 15 sections, coast to coast.
