Graeme C. Payne
Graeme C. Payne is the president of GK Systems, Inc. near Atlanta, Georgia. He provides professional and consulting services related to metrology and calibration of electronic equipment and systems, and for laboratory operations and quality management systems. Graeme started working in metrology in 1981. He has worked in both production calibration activities and standards laboratories with the Department of the Navy, specializing in the RF/Microwave and DC/Low Frequency areas. Other experience includes product testing, quality management systems, and service in both the US marine Corps and the US Air Force.
His current principal client is the electronic calibration lab of a major airline, where he provides calibration engineering services and was also a key figure in the lab's registration to ISO 9001:2000 in August 2001. Graeme is a member of NCSL International, and a Senior Member of ASQ where he is certified by the society as a Calibration Technician, Quality Engineer and Quality Technician. He is a co-author of The Metrology Handbook, published by ASQ in 2004, and the Chair-Elect of ASQ's Measurement Quality Division.
