Two new articles are featured each month, and many more online articles can be found in the site's archives. The site also offers quality quotes, biographies of quality gurus, book recommendations, links to full-text online books, tools and templates, test preparation materials and quality quizzes.

According to the Juran Center at the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management, this database contains approximately 1,000 citations to literature on quality. Most of the books and journal articles referenced here are from the last 10 years, but some of the more important classic citations are included as well in this continuously expanding body of knowledge. While this site contains only abstracts and citations of books and journals, sources are suggested for full text when it is available online.

This site has been enhanced and now includes several quality tools, such as control charts and 50 sets of training slides. FreeQuality is a Web site being developed by students at Pennsylvania State University. It offers free downloads or use of a wide array of industrial quality tools and quality management applications, a searchable quality link library and a glossary.

If you're looking for best practices for your organization, the U.S. General Accounting Office (GAO) has a wealth of suggestions. The GAO-an independent agency that studies the programs and expenditures of the federal government-has documented best practices the government has implemented since 1990 and put them on this site. They are organized under three broad categories: best practices reviews, comparative benchmarking products and best practices methodology. Each category is split into specific areas such as financial management, inventory management and performance measurement.
