The Lean Construction Institute (LCI) researches Lean production management in designing, engineering and constructing buildings. Registration is free and gives users access to various Lean primers, case studies and reports on production control, work structuring, design, Lean supply, project controls and project management. Nonregistered visitors can view a calendar of LCI events and a Lean glossary.

The Northwest Lean Manufacturing Network is a Web-based community for people who want to share information on Lean manufacturing. After completing the free registration, visitors can download papers, PowerPoint presentations, Lean models and spreadsheets posted by other users. They can also submit their own tools to share with fellow network members.

The Lean Enterprise Institute’s Web site sells the organization’s books and training services but also offers plenty of free information. Go to the Library tab to see excerpts and articles from the Institute’s latest books. Under the Community tab, find forums, reports, archived discussions, videos, PowerPoint presentations, survey results and links to Lean organizations around the world. Registration is free.
