Log-in help
Use the same log-in and password that you use for www.asq.org. Your log-in ID is the e-mail address you have on file with ASQ or your member number.
Navigate the Learning Institute
- There are "Back" links on each Learning Institute page. Please use the "Back" link instead of the "Back" button on your browser. Your browser's "Back" button will cause an error.
- Use the tabs at the top of your screen to browse the catalog or review your learning plan. Your status – member or nonmember – determines what tabs you see.
Find a course
You have four options in the Catalog tab on the top right of the screen.
- Browse Catalog: Shows you everything in the catalog by subject area. Clicking on a subject area shows you all of the courses in that subject.
- Calendar of Offerings: Displays dates and the subject areas offered on those dates. This only shows scheduled courses – typically those with instructors. Self-paced courses do not show up on the calendar, as they can be accessed at any time.
- Simple Catalog Search: Use a keyword or phrase to search types of courses available. The Exact Phrase checkbox limits search results to courses that have the keywords you entered. You can also limit your search based on type – Curricula, Instructor-led, Online, Blended or Other.
- Advanced Catalog Search: Search the Title, Description or ID. Filter your search based on Subject Area, Delivery Method, or Source.
Icons/symbols
Self-paced online offering: It could be a web-based self-paced course, a recorded virtual session, or a recorded webinar.
Instructor-led: The course takes place at a specific date and time. An instructor will guide you through the material – either in a classroom or online.
Help: Opens a help page with more information about the page you’re looking at.
Course length
Each course includes the length in hours (example: "Length: 9.00"). This gives you an idea of the time commitment for the course.
Course price/member discount
After clicking on the course title, you get a description of the course that includes the price and the ASQ member price.
Additional information about courses
The course details page gives you a basic description of the course. Further down on the page, you will find additional information if you click on the blue triangles in the blue shaded bars.
Hotel and travel information
Each course session has an information sheet under More Information. Each information sheet has the course number, date, and city for the session (examples below: #09022, #09036, #09064, etc.). Find the one that matches your course number, date, and city for hotel and travel information.
Competencies
Competencies help you measure the gaps between your current skills and the skills required for the job you want. ASQ members will find this under the "Career" tab in the "Career Planner."
Choose a job and take a competency self-assessment. The self-assessment shows you where you should focus your training and how far you have to go.
