Chair’s Message After serving as program chair and chair-elect, I am writing my first message as Lean Enterprise Division chair. I have served in ASQ volunteer positions for 10 years but chair of the LED has to rate at the top. I am privileged and honored to be in this position and fortunate to have a dedicated leadership team. They are a great group; we met in Milwaukee in April 2008 for a weekend strategic planning session. Here’s a preview of what is to come. This year and beyond, there will be a focus on networking, education and training, improved communications, and continuing with our voice of the customer and body of knowledge teams. The pursuit of a lean certification is still in full swing as well. We will be very active at the ASQ World Conference in Minneapolis in 2009, and will be teaming up again with the Six Sigma Forum for the 2nd Lean Six Sigma Conference, March 2 and 3, 2009 in Phoenix. Please make plans to join us. In Milwaukee we worked on this definition for the LED: The Lean Enterprise Division is a global network of professionals helping individuals and organizations apply proven and leading-edge lean principles and practices to achieve dramatic results for your personal and organizational success.
