ASQ Healthcare Member Profiles

Every issue, the ASQ electronic newsletter Healthcare Update will feature a profile of a member, author, or other contributor. These profiles will also be stored on the Health Care Division website

You may create your own profile for us to feature, or you may provide us with some information and we will write it for you. If you choose to write your own profile, please try to keep the text to around 500 words. A variety of short facts and longer quotations will also help to hold reader interest.

The following questions may help you get started with your profile. Please do not feel compelled to answer every question. Some members also like to share information about their families, hobbies, or other activities.

Please share any information you would like regarding your professional background, such as …

  • How long have you worked in quality? What is your current position?
  • How long have you been an ASQ member?
  • What is your current job? (title, organization/company, location, responsibilities)
  • What is your previous work experience?
  • What are the types of quality initiatives you spend the most time on in your current position?
  • What is your educational background? (degrees, certifications, training)

Please consider offering a point or two of advice to your healthcare quality colleagues, such as …

  • What are some of the most important or greatest quality challenges facing healthcare today?
  • What are some of the challenges facing the quality professional?
  • In your opinion, is there any “low hanging fruit” (or opportunities) that a healthcare quality professional could focus on that is likely to have a quick impact on improving healthcare delivery?
  • Are there any recent quality resources (books, conferences, courses, web pages, etc) that you have found to be especially helpful for your career.
  • What’s your best advice to someone new to quality?

Please consider offering a statement or two about the value of Six Sigma or quality, such as …

  • How do you apply quality knowledge or tools off the job?
  • Why did you choose to enter the quality field, or how did you get started?
