Jack B. Allen, Jr.
Senior Vice President, Operational Excellence


Experience
With more than 35 years of Westinghouse experience in the nuclear field, Jack Allen currently is senior vice president, Operational Excellence, based out of Westinghouse’s Windsor, Connecticut location. He is responsible for the Westinghouse behavioral and operational transformation initiative called Customer 1st. Customer 1st involves focusing on customer-centric continuous improvement in company operations using state-of-the-art tools and processes to enhance operational excellence and ease of doing business and to create success for Westinghouse customers. He assumed this position in May 2005.

Before his current assignment, Jack was senior vice president, Nuclear Power Plants, where he was responsible for the new plant business unit satisfying valued customers in Korea and Japan while pursuing and establishing new plant market opportunities in the U.S., Japan, China and Europe. He assumed this position in December 2003.
Prior to this position Jack was head of operations, MOX (Mixed Oxide fuel), for the BNFL Sellafield facility in the United Kingdom, a role he assumed in March 2001. In this position, he led plant commissioning and start-up operations by providing valuable manufacturing and business expertise.

Before his position in Sellafield, Jack was vice president of U.S. Manufacturing for Westinghouse Nuclear Fuel. In this position, he was responsible for the manufacturing operations of all four Westinghouse nuclear fuel plants in the United States (Utah, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and South Carolina). He also served for three years as plant manager for the Nuclear Fuel Columbia plant where he was responsible for overall site management, including fuel operations, customer and regulator interfaces and supplier management.

Earlier in his career, Jack successfully fulfilled management positions within Westinghouse’s Electro-Mechanical Division and the Nuclear Fuel Columbia Plant from 1977 through 1997, including engineering design and technology manager; materials manager; manufacturing manager; welding engineering manager; and technical services manager. He also was placed on a four-month temporary task assignment as the plant manager of the Blairsville Specialty Metals Plant in 1996.
