Rand E. Winters, Jr., CQA, CQE, CQT

Rand Winters, Jr. offers technical and hands-on knowledge in silicone-rubber compounding, plastic injection molding, molten metal processing and assembly processes. He has earned a nationwide reputation for his ability to impart knowledge in an interesting and understandable way.

He also has a strong background in the service industry, helping service-based companies to understand how to successfully develop and implement ISO 9000, QS 9000 and ISO 14001. He regularly conducts manufacturing and service industry registration audits.

Winters is an instructor for ASQ, the Metal Treating Institute and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. He annually addresses local and national ASQ chapters and conferences. He is an ISO 9000 and ISO 14001 RAB Lead Auditor, an ASQ-certified quality auditor, a certified quality engineer, and an AIAG-trained QS-9000 auditor. He is frequently asked to share his expertise with national professional organizations.

Winters has co-authored several ISO/QS-9000 books, including a publication on the tooling and equipment supplement to the QS-9000 Standard.

Prior to forming his company in 1989, Rand worked “on the factory floor” as a quality control manager, production manager and plant manager for several Michigan manufacturing firms.

Winters has a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering and a master’s degree in industrial technology from Western Michigan University. His work has taken him throughout the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Ireland, England and Israel.
