Gary Bartmann

Gary Bartmann, Vice President of Subcontract Management & Procurement, Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company

Gary Bartmann is the Vice President of Subcontract Management & Procurement for Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company. He is responsible for Subcontract Management, Commodities/Shared Services, and Supplier Diversity Programs. Gary is also responsible for Strategic Supplier Management (SSM) — a strategic approach to subcontract management which leverages best value for Space Systems Company and enables best-in-class subcontract performance.

Prior to his current role Gary was the Vice President of the Lockheed Martin Strategic Sourcing Solutions team. In this role he led the development and execution of leveraged corporate agreements, procurement support for Corporate Shared Services, and expansion of the strategic initiatives increasing sourcing leverage for the Corporation.

Gary was also a Program Director in the MS2 Business Unit. As a Director he shared responsibility for the execution of a mobile, land-based, weapon locating radar program known as COBRA. He was based at EADS in Germany. COBRA is the COunter Battery RAdar system and is built on active, phased-array, solid state technology. Gary also served on the Board of Directors of EURO-ART GmbH (European Advanced Radar Technology) — a Joint Management Company owned by four World Class companies including EADS in Germany and Thales in France and the UK. He had the functional responsibility within EURO-ART as Technical Director and led a multi-national Systems Engineering Team.

Prior to joining EURO-ART in 1999, Bartmann served as Director of Material Acquisition and Subcontract Management at MACMAR. In this role, he supported various businesses within the Corporation and was accountable for a material base in excess of $250M. During this timeframe, as a result of a variety of mergers and acquisitions, he also supported Martin Marietta and the General Electric Company.

Mr. Bartmann began his career at the Radio Corporation of America (RCA) in the mid-1980s. He started as a Project Engineer on the AEGIS Program and worked in an Engineering capacity until 1993.

Bartmann earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. He completed the General Electric Advanced Course in Engineering in 1993 and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of New Jersey.
