Dr. W. Edwards Deming, known as the Prophet of Quality, has largely been ignored for his impact and influence on waste reduction, the early Lean movement, the resurgence of Japan’s quality and productivity. Learn from Dr. Deming (as personified by Mike Micklewright) and his principles (14 Points) and learn from Mike Micklewright how Deming would view today’s business, quality, government, and education environments and how they stack up against his 14 Points. Learn of what he would think of today’s trends in Lean, Six Sigma, Off-Shoring, Root Cause Analysis, and ISO 9001. And finally learn about how the many current crises we face today (financial meltdown, etc) resulted from ignoring Deming’s 14 Principles. Mike Micklewrightis a dynamic speaker, actor, stand-up comedian, author, business, lean and quality consultant, and trainer based in the Chicago area.
Mike writes his own column in Quality Digest Magazine in which he is known as The Whys Guy. Mike is also a Midwest Board member for the Association for Manufacturing Excellence. He has also written a book entitled "Out of Another @#%^! Crisis" that will soon be published.
Mike specializes in Lean, ISO 9001, Leadership, Deming, and Root Cause Analysis. He is an ASQ Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, Quality Auditor, Quality Engineer, and Quality Manager. He also holds an Engineering degree from the University of Illinois.
