About

What are the issues and challenges facing minorities in the quality community, those that are transparent as well as non-transparent?  This dialog can happen on the Minorities in Quality discussion board and the soon to be established ASQ MiQ FaceBook group.  The intention is for individuals to connect in the community settings and then build peer to peer or informal mentor/mentee relationships.  A formal mentor program involving MiQ is in the planning stages.

We seek to connect with groups with similar missions.  The American Chemical Society (ACS) has a mature Committee on Minority Affairs and a number of best practices.  We also have an official link to the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE).

Included in our strategic plan is to do student outreach, letting more minority students know about the opportunities in quality.  A scholarship program is being examined.

Much is in the works and the dreams of the leadership team.  Please join us to add your voice to the community and to help us make this network's goals a reality.  It doesn’t matter if you’re a minority of someone who supports minority participation in quality, you’re welcomed with us!
