Article Abstracts Simplify Baldrige for Healthcare The growing number of applicants for the Baldrige award in healthcare points to the need for a set of tools to help organizations assess themselves. A healthcare self-assessment matrix and opportunity for improvement worksheets are provided to help strategically prioritize and plan for improvement. The matrix can be used to involve organizational leaders in the entire process of self-assessment, gap analysis, and planning. While active participation of senior management is essential to success, the team-driven interactive process highlights the key pillars of award models and criteria.
