Welcome to the ANCOR Performance Excellence Community of Practice!
Early in 2005, ANCOR launched a major initiative aimed at enhancing Performance Excellence among its members. Following the development of a Quality Pledge recommended to all member agencies, a task force was formed that developed a framework of performance excellence quality markers to serve as guides for the membership in meeting the outcomes committed to in the Pledge. The work is moving forward to identify resources and supports for member agencies to access in their organizational performance assessment and services and operations improvements. Plans are also underway to identify promising and successful models of practice. A goal was announced to have a member agency achieve a national Baldrige award by 2010.
At the same time, the need for clear definitions of specific measurements became apparent, as well as the lack of reliable baseline data on a national scope that would allow organizations to self assess their performance and develop management information from which to improve. This need has since been reinforced by the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare (CMS) – our major source of funds for services to persons with disabilities in the United States .
These discussions began around leading practices for traditional services, but quickly evolved to emerging trends and opportunities in the field for innovation, provider response to self-determination, and the emergence of self advocacy among users of ANCOR member's services and supports.
ANCOR and ASQ now invite you to participate in these three discussions by selecting one or more of the three topics listed at the left. (Registration does not imply or require ASQ membership, although ANCOR recommends that you explore the many valuable resources offered by ASQ membership through the links above right.
