Certification Development Process

All certification programs follow ASQE’s ISO 17024 accredited exam development process to ensure the validity and reliability of ASQE examinations. Over the course of one year (minimum), ASQE works with subject matter experts (SMEs) to design, develop, and solidify a comprehensive body of knowledge and examination. A brief overview of ASQE’s exam development process and minimum requirements for a custom certification are below.

An Example of the Impact of Corporate Certification

How To Build Your Culture of Quality - The FedEx QDM

In 2012, ASQ partnered with FedEx to develop the Quality Driven Management (QDM) Certification. QDM, which draws from the best of Six Sigma, Lean Six, and other continuous improvement methodologies, creates a customer-focused approach tailored to a service-based industry like FedEx. Over 2,600 experts have been certified in the company's unique methodology.

"Through QDM, thousands of team members have helped FedEx generate significant cost savings, boost revenue and continuously improve processes," says Rebecca Yeung, vice president, Advanced Technology & Innovation.
