Message from the Chairs
Auditors... we can be a solitary lot. Our lives consist of crowded airports, nervous auditees, concise reports, and stuffy hotel rooms. But, once a year, we come together to renew friendships, share war stories, and learn from subject-matter experts at the annual ASQ Quality Audit Division Conference, the premier event for auditors.
This 2003 Quality Audit Division Conference includes an insightful technical program designed to provide cutting edge information for auditors and audit customers. "Auditing Standards of Excellence" is the theme of this 2003 event, and we have planned an information-packed conference with recognized experts from a wide variety of technical disciplines.
One of our two Keynote speakers, Dr. Blanton Godfrey, will deliver the opening address on Thursday, February 6th. Dr. Godfrey is Dean and Joseph D. Moore Distinguished Professor of North Carolina State College of Textiles. He is also the Past Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Juran Institute, and one of the framers of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.
Our second Keynote speaker, Spencer Hutchens, Jr., who will deliver the opening address on Friday morning, February 7th, is the Senior Vice President of RAM Consulting. Mr. Hutchins has held key positions with the ASQ, which include President, Vice President, and Chairman of the Board of Directors. It is an honor to have both of these distinguished leaders address our 2003 Conference.
In addition, the Conference Committee understands that our members are also interested in face-to-face training. For this reason, such authors as J.P. Russell, Greg Hutchins, Dennis Arter, and Sandford Liebesman will deliver value-added presentations and/or Pre-Conference Tutorials. They will be joined by many other speakers throughout the conference to offer training, discussions, and useful information that you can take back to your companies.
The Value Proposition for the 2003 Conference states that our goal is to provide our attendees with two things: an all-inclusive conference experience and invaluable opportunities to network with quality industry experts. The Reno Hilton Hotel, our host hotel, will provide the breakfasts, lunches, and breaks which are included in your conference fee. Thursday night features the opening reception which includes dining, dancing, and a prize drawing. Friday night's event, which includes dinner and our traditional book drawing, is the perfect event to close our conference. So, remember to drop your business card in the basket when visiting the book display room during the conference. Several cards will be drawn, and winners will have their choice of books as well as many other prizes supplied by our generous sponsors.
Include an additional networking and learning experience by attending the Quality Audit Division Business Meeting on Saturday morning, February 8th. Not only will breakfast and lunch will be served, but the informal atmosphere will offer an opportunity to meet our Division leaders and voice your opinion regarding Division matters.
Welcome to Reno and the 12th Annual Quality Audit Division Conference... Auditing Standards of Excellence.
