Chair’s Message

Your Division at Work.

We have had an especially busy few months.  We had a successful Conference on Quality in the Space & Defense Industries (CQSDI) this past March and in May, participated in a great ASQ World Conference on Quality and Improvement.  The ASD board meeting at the World Conference went well.  Meeting minutes will be published on our website soon. We also hosted a hospitality suite for our constituency which was also a success.  We got to meet with old friends, former chairs, and make new friends. Our former chairs in attendance were Spencer Hutchens, Mike Thomas, Pete Andres and Michael Dreikorn.  

We have gathered new member leaders for committee chairs and look forward to a healthy and productive 2007-2008 year ahead.  We will begin planning the next CQSDI at the end of June.  We will also have our next board meeting at the end of June to lay out our budget and business plan for 2007-08. 

I’m happy to announce our success again this year to have worked hard and achieved the highest level of recognition for the Division Management Program.  To help us maintain that level of success, please let me know what we are doing well, what we can do to improve and what products or services you would like us to provide.  My email is debra.harrison@dcma.mil.

Members of this Division are involved in the manufacturing, service, and government sectors of the commercial aviation, defense, and space industries. Included are members of the DOD, FAA, and NASA, contractors, and subcontractors.

The Division offers a newsletter (view sample issue), hosts this web site and various discussion groups, sponsors conferences and networking activities.
